This is a PDF score.
The Prelude on Salve Regina was commissioned by and written for the brilliant American organist Renée Anne Louprette. Renée spent time studying in France, and this piece pays a certain homage to Notre-Dame de Paris and the Salve Regina chant, which is sung at the end of each musical mass there. The style of the piece contains musical elements of some of our favorite French composers, such as Maurice Duruflé, Jean Langlais and Jehan Alain. The piece is quite modal, as one might expect of a Gregorian paraphrase. It is quiet, reflective, and somber in mood.
Duration: 5 minutes. Difficulty: 5/10
